Live-Stream Router & Transcoder
Efficient IP stream processing
Maximum flexibility for BOS, network operators & hospitality. Routing,
transcoding & redundancy – Made in Germany.

Transcoding / Routing
Why transcoding & routing?
In modern IP-based networks, different formats, codecs and protocols come together – not always compatible, often with specific requirements for the end device. A 4K HEVC stream cannot be displayed on an older MPEG-2 receiver, and multicast streams do not run directly in the web browser.
Our live stream routers & transcoders solve this problem: they convert incompatible signals in real time, ensure the highest signal quality, low latency and secure distribution – even in critical environments or under high network load.
Rely on IP stream processing made in Germany – for maximum flexibility, reliability and future-proofing.

FAQ - Live-Stream Router & Transcoder
What are the advantages of high-density transcoding?
High-density transcoding enables the parallel processing of many streams in a compact 19” 1U form factor. This saves space, reduces operating costs and protects existing infrastructure through flexible conversion of codecs and bit rates.
The TAC 2.0 in particular offers the option of monitoring hundreds of streams in real time and controlling them tactically via matrix views thanks to its scalable master-agent structure.
How is the security of the streams guaranteed?
Our systems use AES encryption (128/256 bit), password protection, VLAN management and IEEE 802.1X (e.g. Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass). This means that the streams are reliably protected even in critical infrastructures.
Which protocols do TAC 2.0 and SHLS 7XX support?
TAC 2.0: Multi-protocol support (UDP, RTP, SRT with AES-128/256, RTSP, TCP, HLS)
SHLS 7XX: UDP, RTP and HLS (incl. adaptive bit rate) – optimized for network operators, OTT and hospitality.
What is the difference between routing and transcoding?
Routing forwards a stream in an already compatible format – fast, lossless and without additional latency.
Transcoding is used when the codec, resolution or bit rate need to be adapted, e.g. from HEVC (H.265) to MPEG-2 or from 1080p to 720p.
Can the systems be operated on-premise?
Yes, both systems can be operated locally as a hardware appliance or installed as a bare-metal server in a rackspace provider of your choice. We also offer virtualized, highly available instances for operation in AWS, Microsoft Azure and other cloud environments.
