DVB-Gateways

The GSS Smart Server is the official successor to the GSS.lamina: This server-based head-end station forms the interface between reception technology and IT.

Smart Solutions

1. Network Requirements

  • VLAN Segregation: Separate guest and cast networks using VLANs.
  • mDNS-Filterung: Aktivieren Sie die mDNS-Filterung.
  • Custom DNS: Set up a DNS server with an A-record in the guest network.


2. Port Configuration

Eth1 – WAN port:

  • IP: Any available IP from your network.
  • VLAN: Supports untagged or Access VLAN only.

Eth3 – Guest Network:

  • VLAN: Untagged or no VLAN.
  • MAC 1: Used for WAN access.
    • Get MAC: Send Cast Gateway serial number (S/N) via email. 
    • IP: Any available IP from your network.
  • MAC 2 (Fixed): 3A:6E:A8:43:4A:5F (for pairing TV images)
    • DNS-Setup: IP: “10.0.0.2”, Domain: “cast.axing.com”.

Eth5 – Chromecast Network:

  • VLAN: Untagged or no VLAN.
  • MAC 1: Used for WAN access.
    • Get MAC: Send Cast Gateway serial number (S/N) via email.
    • IP: Any available IP from the Chromecast network.
  • MAC 2 (fixed): 3A:6E:A8:43:4A:5F (for the Chromecast-Dashboard).
    • Access: http://$ipaddress/console.

 

3. Final Steps

  • Ensure proper VLAN and IP settings.
  • For MAC address details, email your Cast Gateway serial number to our support team.
